As the devastating news made its way into shuls across the world on Shemini Atzeres, several members of the community headed into the sukkah for a lechaim, desperate for a way to offer support and chizuk to the yidden of Eretz Yisroel.
“The story was retold of the Rebbe mobilizing chassidim for mivtza tefillin during the Six Day War,” stated a community member, “and an idea was born.”
Each and every one of us has something we are passionate about, something that is special to us, something upon which we are willing to spend just a little more than we should.
Why, then, should tefillin be any different?
The decision was made to start an endeavor that would provide MEHUDAR tefillin to mivtzoyim stands in many communities around the world, offering thousands the chance to take pride in “hiddur mitzvah.” Our aim is to ensure that whether it’s a soldier in Israel, a Jew visiting the Kosel, one of our children, or anyone seeking to reconnect with Hashem, they will have access to the most advanced, high quality, and supreme tefillin for this most meaningful moment.
Several individuals immediately pledged their support, and stood up to the plate to donate toward multiple pairs of tefillin, which will be purchased and sent to locations around the world, including the Ohel, the Kosel, Chabad houses, and shuls across Erez Yisroel and throughout the entire world.
“In a modern day reenactment of mivtza tefillin, we set up a fundraiser to offer everyone the chance to partner with us in this incredible undertaking,” stated Idan Cohen, who, along with Yosef Adler and Shmuli Nachlas and many other members of anash, spearheaded this initiative in that sukkah in Toronto.
“We will start with 36 pairs and continue to increase our goal as we achieve our target. These MEHUDAR, supreme tefillin will be stationed throughout the world, all in the name of “וְרָאוּ כָּל־עַמֵּי הָאָרֶץ כִּי שֵׁם ה׳ נִקְרָא עָלֶיךָ וְיָרְאוּ מִמֶּךָּ”

I encourage women to donate to this program. It is our chance to get involved with Mivtzah Tefillin, encouraging soldiers and increasing the spiritual spiritual ammunition for the war that was thrust upon us.
I like the tag lines on these posters:

GET ARMED
SEND SPIRITUAL AMMUNITION TO THE FRONT LINES
THIS IS A TIME FOR ACTION
