The Vizhnitzer Rebbe R’ Yisroel Hager of Bnei Brak was joined by a group of his Chassidim during his trip to Ukraine, this week.
As reported on COLlive.com, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe was staying in Britain for a summer break where he met with the Chabad Mechina of London who was there as well.
The Vizhnitzer Rebbe landed in the Havryshivka Vinnytsia International Airport in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, and was welcomed by the city’s Chief Rabbi Shaul Horowitz, a Chabad Shliach.
From there, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe continued to the Ohr Avner education village in the outskirts of Zhytomyr, where there was a meeting with supporters of his institutions.
On Wednesday morning, Zhytomyr’s Chief Rabbi Shlomo Wilhelm invited the Vizhnitzer Rebbe to serve a sandek to a Jewish student from the Ohr Avner Chabad school in Vinnytsia.
After the ceremony, Rabbi Wilhelm showed him photos of his father and predecessor, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe R’ Moshe Yehoshua Hager OBM who served in the same role during a visit to Zhytomyr 25 years ago.
The current Vizhnitzer Rebbe was moved by the experience and offered his blessings to the Jewish student and to the Shluchim.
