After exiled from the Tashkent town for unknown reasons a meeting in the country’s Department of Justice has decided to permit the Chief Rabbis’s return.
The meeting was attended by officials in the Justice department, the President’s office and the local Jewish community.
The Israeli Maariv newspaper has linked his deportation to the Rabbi’s resistance to sell the local synagogue on which ground the President’s daughter plans to build a commercial center.
COL’s reporter in Israel added: Rabbi Gurevitch is allows to return as a rabbi but not an official shliach (emissary) of Lubavitch. No further information was available.
