The Crown Heights Keilim Mikvah, which has recently reopened after being closed for some years, is being used regularly by local residents.
The Mikvah Taharas Moshe, located in the alleyway near Totally Her on Kingston Avenue between Carroll and Crown Streets, has been busier than ever this week, with residents preparing for the upcoming Pesach holiday.
The Mikvah now uses a credit card system in order to unlock the door, ensuring people do not leave boxes and garbage or block the alleyway.
In order to use the Mikvah, a $30 hold is placed on the user’s card. The Mikvah is free to use for Keilim as long as the person follows the rules.
If the user parks their car in the alley, leaves items of packaging or other bags, boxes or other trash in the alley, or leaves the door unlocked, they are charged a fee of $30.
Coordinators of the Mikvah remind residents that many people did not toivel their Pesach keilim last year due to COVID, and should do so before Pesach.
The Mikvah is now open 24 hours till Pesach.
