Chodesh Elul in Montreal Zal was truly incredible — from the structured Tmimim KeSidran day-to-day schedule to the frequent special events, each moment reflected Musafim Kehilchasan.
Tmidim KeSidran & New Initiatives
This year saw the introduction of new daily shiurim in Sha’ar HaBitachon and Sefer Shmuel, adding depth and inspiration to the learning. The well-renowned daily girsa shiurim by Rabbi Mordechai Wenger are now being made available to the wider community of alumni and ba’alei batim.

One bochur noted how much he enjoyed the farbrengens led by Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh Gurary: “Rabbi Gurary’s Thursday night farbrengens were what I looked forward to all week. It was especially geshmak to farbreng in the home of our mashpia.” Another reflected on the Shiurei Iyun: “Rabbi Fisher’s shiurim are extremely helpful and directive — his clarity is refreshing.”

Shiurei Tanya are being delivered by Mashpia Roshi HaRav Itche Meir Gurary, known for publishing three scholarly volumes on Tanya.
Shiurim Klali’im are given by the Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Leibel Kaplan, admired for his unparalleled depth and breadth.
A highlight of the month was the grand opening learning and farbrengen in honor of Tes Vov Elul, which lasted well into the early hours. Participants described the warm and personal interaction of the Hanhala members as reminiscent of the eltere chassidim farbrengens of old — truly unforgettable.
The bochurim also enjoyed a special hands-on presentation on safrus from Reb Heshy Benshimon, a local sofer.
The ever-growing Zal library of English sefrei kodesh expanded further this month, now including a new Koren Shas, additional volumes of Sichos in English, and more.
