R’ Tzvi Elimelech (Hershel) Sandhaus, one of the pillars of the Chabad community in Argentina, passed away on Tuesday, 24 Elul, 5779.
He was 95.
R’ Hershel and his wife Zissel were known in the Chabad community in Argentina for their open home and gracious character. Locals were welcomed at the family’s Shabbos table and visitors to Argentina were offered a place to stay.
After Mrs. Sandhaus’ passing in 5776, her husband moved to Crown Heights.
He is survived by his children, R’ Sruli Sandhaus – Crown Heights, Mrs. Tzippy Levertov – Phoenix, Arizona and Mrs. Deby Rosenfeld, Zurich, Switzerland.
He was predeceased by his son Yossel Sandhaus OBM and his wife Zissel OBM.
The levaya will take place today, Tuesday leaving Shomrei Hadas at 2 pm and passing by 770 Eastern Parkway at 3 pm.
The family will be sitting Shiva at 1394 Union Street. Selichos & Shachris 8:00 am. Mincha/Maariv Bizmano
