As 9 days of Winter Camp in Sweden come to an end, Tzeirei Hashluchos around Europe return home empowered.
From Istanbul to Copenhagen, from Parpignan France, to Piešťany Slovakia, young Shluchos enjoyed great trips, activities, friendships, learning and the farbrengens that are a hallmark of the Sweden camp experience.
Hey Teves was an unforgettable day, with 24 hours filled with inspiration, watching a full Farbrengen of the Rebbe and more.
“My daughter is on a high from your place,” wrote a mother. “I wish you could share some of your chayas and varimkeit with us!”
Rabbi Volvovsky from Florence, Italy was the guest speaker at the Banquet on the last night of camp. “I’m sure Bluma is not the only one here who is in ‘Mommy school.’” The campers laughed. “This opportunity to get together with other Chassidishe girls, Shluchos of the Rebbe, is very special.”
As Mushka, a counselor from Florida put it: “I honestly never learned so much from campers as I learned from this camp.
This camp is really special. I’m so lucky I got to come here.”
Among the speakers at the banquet was camper Chaya S, 13, from Belgium.
“I was really nervous before I came to camp. But when I walked in and I got a big hug from Mrs. Namdar, I felt right at home. Everyone in Sweden camp is so friendly.
When I go home I want to continue saying Chitas. I want to thank the Rebbe for giving me the privilege of being a Shlucha.”
Tzeirei Hashluchos in Sweden aims to strengthen the hiskashrus to the Rebbe and the bonds between young shluchos and reenergize the campers as they return home to their – often remote- places of shlichus.
“In my town I don’t have any friends my age,” said one camper, with tears springing into her eyes. “So every day in camp is so important to me.”
“We gained a new outlook on shlichus,” wrote M, a counselor from NY. “Camp taught us what real hiskashrus looks like. Usually, the staff are the ones giving but I think we can say we gained so much too this winter camp.”
“Camp is about connecting with other shluchos. The time spent together strengthens their bond with each other as shluchos of the Rebbe. The learning, the davening and farbrengens in an atmosphere of fun and joy, gives the campers a chayus that BezH lasts for months,” says Rabbi Alexander Namdar, who directs the camp with his wife, Leah. “Hakhel is all about coming together. What better time than Shnas Hakhel to come to camp?”
