15 years ago, just a few weeks before the summer, Shluchim and Shluchos in Europe started calling Rabbi Alexander and Leah Namdar of Chabad Sweden, with a request to start a camp for their children.
The Namdars approached Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky obm and asked if he would partner with them in this project. Without hesitation, he agreed and thus began a warm partnership between Chabad of Sweden and Rabbi Kotlarsky, resulting in 43 summer and winter camp sessions for girls and boys BH.
As the years passed, Rabbi Kotlarsky remained a strong partner, helping to make it possible for hundreds of young Shluchim and Shluchos from Europe and beyond to experience weeks of joy, friendship and inspiration at the camps in Sweden.
Many of the campers live in very remote locations and Rabbi Kotlarsky – who had visited many of them- really understood how camp is an experience they wait for all year, giving them renewed chayus in their shlichus.
The camps in Sweden are synonymous with fun trips and activities, warmth, caring, amazing staff, great farbrengens and learning and lasting friendships.
The 44th and 45th camp sessions will be dedicated Leilui nishmas Rβ Moshe Yehuda ben Tzvi Yosef Χ’Χ³Χ, the devoted partner of Gan Yisroel Tzeirei Hashluchim Sweden.
May his memory and example of hiskashrus to the Rebbe, devotion to the shluchim and incredible Ahavas Yisroel continue to inspire us all.
