Purim is a night of simcha, but it is also a night of renewed connection — to each other, to Hashem, and to the heritage that has carried Yidden through every generation. That theme was felt strongly this year at two separate Purim-night gatherings hosted by The Space CH, each offering a kosher setting for music, dancing, and meaningful Jewish joy.
Chazal describe Purim with the words: “קִיְּמוּ וְקִבְּלוּ הַיְּהוּדִים — קִיְּמוּ מַה שֶּׁקִּבְּלוּ כְּבָר” — a strengthening of commitment, a re-acceptance of what we already received. In a quiet but real way, that spirit could be felt throughout the night: simcha that wasn’t only entertainment, but an expression of identity and connection.
Purim Night (20+): In Collaboration with The Standing Shul — Dancing Until 2:00 AM
The 20+ Purim night event, hosted in collaboration with The Standing Shul, drew over 85 young women. Many arrived not knowing others in the room, but the dancing quickly turned into a shared experience — circles forming naturally, introductions happening on the spot, and people joining in together with joy.
With upbeat music that kept the energy going, DJ Dev kept the room moving with lights, rhythm, and a steady flow that carried the celebration until 2:00 AM. Snacks and drinks were available throughout the night, keeping things warm and welcoming as the hours went on.
The simcha was felt even beyond the walls: people walking by outside could hear the music, and more than a few danced along as they passed.
Midnight Rager (Teens): 175 Sign-Ups Before It Even Started
Later that night, The Space CH hosted a midnight rager for teens, with 175 sign-ups before the event even began. The room filled quickly with music, laughter, and nonstop dancing — the kind of Purim joy that comes from being together in a positive environment.
DJ Maydel kept the night kicking from start to finish. Kaff Cafe added to the celebration with a dessert bar featuring fresh crepes and a full spread of toppings, giving the girls a fun treat to enjoy throughout the night.
A special thank you is due to Ruchama Clapman and MASK for their ongoing support of The Space CH. Their partnership helps make it possible to provide a wholesome space where teens and young women can gather, connect, and experience simcha with meaning.
The Space CH also extends heartfelt thanks to all of our supporters, whose generosity makes this kind of wholesome programming possible throughout the year.
By the end of the night, it was clear that this wasn’t only a party. It was Purim simcha in a kosher setting — the kind that lifts a person and leaves them feeling more connected to Hashem and to Yiddishkeit.
