An elegant white attire soirée, aligned with the energy of Tu B’av, where matchmakers, dating coaches, and diverse single women ages 19 – 40 years old, come together for a unique networking experience.
What is Shalhevet?
Shalhevet is a project led by Chabad Young Women in Montreal, dedicated to creating opportunities, events and a sense of community for young, single women.
Our programs and events are led and designed by us, young, single women.
Being “For Us, By Us,” allows Shalhevet to tap into this segment’s most pressing needs, and create a bespoke space to connect, socialize, learn and journey together.
From casual gatherings to dressed-up affairs, we offer a diverse range of experiences for our community.
We connect through chavrusa learning, holiday meals, volunteering, inspirational events, creative art activities and panel discussions featuring members from Shalhevet.
Each Rosh Chodesh we put out a monthly calendar with an array of events, such as Tanya & Brunch, Torah & Tea, artistic expression, holiday parties, Shabbat dinners and others.
This Tu B’Av, we come together in celebration of love and connection, as we create an experience for single women. Our event will be taking place in Montreal.
August 2nd, Save the date!
A project led by Freydi Lipsh, Devorah Miller, Devorah Banon and Bashie Naparstek.

Let’s go crown heights?
Imagine looking at this exciting flyer and planning to go and then you see that it’s age-restricted and you are 41. The depth of pain you are creating for singles is deafening. Please, think, would the Rebbetzin ever close the door to any beautiful single regardless of her age? Please remove the age restriction from your event.💞
There is always one who will try to cut down the event. They are allowed to pose an age restriction. If this event upsets you that much perhaps plan an event for singles 41 and up.
I’m sure that if you wanted to attend you would be very welcome 😊
Yes, thank you for expressing this. As a 44 year old, I feel excluded as well. It feels like nobody cares about those of us who are single over 40. We are basically being shown “you’re on your own”. Why would I show up at an event that is not catering to my age? I bet the matchmakers there dont want to deal with 41+ year old women, who are harder to find matches for.
It appears that this group is targeting only those of child-bearing age. However, although generally that was thought to be be 40, today, that age can be up to 45.
Uh, i know women in their late 40s too who have successful natural pregnancies.
Asking for a friend….Where is this event taking place?
In Montreal 🙂
