President Donald Trump signed a pandemic-aid bill on Sunday night paving the way for millions of Americans to get economic relief during the coronavirus pandemic.
Americans will now be receiving direct payments of $600 per adult and per child for individuals with adjusted gross incomes under $75,000.
The president said he expects Congress to vote on separate legislation to increase direct payments to $2,000, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The House was already planning to vote on such a bill on Monday.
“I still cannot wrap my brain around the fact that our Government thinks that $600 is covid relief!!? Nine months worth too on top of it?! Maybe in communist China people make $600 every 9 months,” tweeted Rabbi Yossi Lazaroff, Director of the Rohr Chabad Jewish Center at Texas A&M University.

There was a stimulus earlier this year, over Trump’s signature. Did you forget about that already? Or about the accelerated effort (which seems to have been successful) to develop a vaccine? And so forth.

In general, stimulus payments only have a positive impact after an economical crash. I goes something like this: A single market crashes that causes the other markets to crash as well because people are afraid to spend their money. The stimulus payments then encourage the masses to continue spending, which in effect, halts the economic crash in its steps. Covid is very different: There was no single market crash. actually, Trumps team is the one who wrote the bill, the dems wanted more money from the get go but the republicans got them down to $600.
