A group from Chabad of Fox Chapel in Pennsylvania have included volunteer work in their last visit to Israel with their Shluchim Rabbi Ely and Shterny Rosenfeld.
Coordinated by Shalom Stark of ShalomIsraelTours.com, they toured many sites in the Holy land and were deeply inspired by what they’ve seen and heard.
One of their stops was at the offices of the Chabad Terror Victims Project in the chassidic village of Kfar Chabad, where they helped pack hundreds of gifts for victims of terror and wounded IDF soldiers and their families.
The tourists listened intently to Rabbis Menachem Kutner and Yossi Swerdlov as they described their organization’s vitally important, life-sustaining activities.
‘It is very beautiful for communities to come and spend some time in Israel. It makes their trip even more meaningful when they get to do something tangible the people of Israel,” said Rabbi Swerdlov.
One of the participants commented: “This visit was very important to us. It gave us a hands-on opportunity to participate in a wonderful work that’s being done and will hopefully bring comfort and hope to families shattered by terror.”
As part of the day’s activities they were also taken on a tour of Kfar Chabad including the hand-made Shmurah Matzah bakery. The group left Kfar Chabad excited and spiritually uplifted by their experiences.
