This Thursday Chassidim around the world celebrated the 19th of Kislev, the day celebrated as the “Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism.”
It was on this date, in the year 1798, that the founder of Chabad Chassidism, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745–1812), was freed from his imprisonment in czarist Russia. More than a personal liberation, this was a watershed event in the history of Chassidism, heralding a new era in the revelation of the “inner soul” of Torah.
In honor of Yud Tes Kislev, Jem has released a new Farbrengen with the Rebbe on DVD as part of the “Farbrengen” series – Yud Tes Kislev 5744 (1983).
Most of the talks of this five-hour long event appear with subtitles in six languages, and cover a wide variety of subjects, including the Rebbe’s launching of a new campaign that all recite Hareini Me’kabel each day before davening, and Ach Tzaddikim afterwards.
In honor of the release of the Farbrengen on video, the publication ‘Leben Mitten Rebben’ has prepared a special edition with background information on the period before, during, and after the Farbrengen, which will enhance the viewers’ experience.
The Farbengen is being screened in hundreds of Yeshivos and communities worldwide. All are encouraged to join one of these public viewings or order your copy of the Farbrengen for your home at jemstore.com
In Crown Heights the screening will take place at the Beis Medrash, 580 Crown Street, on Motzei Shabbos at 8:00 pm.

I am not the most chassidish guy, nor do I have the patience to sit longer than 20 minutes watching or learning a sicha, but you guys are doing a great job in trying to keep the neighborhood on a semi chassidish level. I guess JEMs stuff is not just for chabad houses and BTs…
Thanks also to Motty Lipsker for hosting this event at the Beis Medrash!
and how much money have you given this year to enable JEM to post these Farbrengens and other Rebbe videos online??
