Lamplighters School in Crown Heights is hosting its very first fundraising event for the Crown Heights community, In the Glow: A Chanukah Concert and Bazaar. The event, which celebrates the talents and creativity of Crown Heights Jewish women, will take place this Sunday at Lubavitch Yeshiva at 7:30 pm.
Local female dancers, singers and musicians will perform, sharing their inspiring talents with other women. Performers include Esther Freeman, Sarah Dukes, Shaindel Antelis, Sara Hecht, Infinite Light, Rivkah Nahari Dance Studio and Bulletproof Stockings, among others.
Over 30 local vendors will participate as well, exhibiting their art, educating about their healing and professional services and selling unique gifts, including hand-made jewelry, ceramics, art prints and fashion.
Each attendee will receive a free pair of fashion earrings and there will be an on-site masseuse and gourmet snacks. An exciting Chinese auction will be held as well with over 50 prizes – including interior design services, gourmet catering, holistic treatments, massage, party-planning, fashion consulting, custom clothing, boutique baby items, life coaching, hand-made jewelry, and much more.
Lamplighters Yeshivah is a Chabad-Lubavitch school in Crown Heights that specializes in child-directed education. Board members are Yocheved Sidof, Yaakov Shapiro and Eli Hanover.
The Lamplighter’s philosophy is educational excellence. We emphasize child-directed learning, cultivate emotional intelligence, encourage active parental participation and communication, and maintain high teacher/student ratios.
We are building a school where our children learn Torah with love and excitement; where Yiddishkeit and Chasidishkeit come alive through meaningful dialogue and exploration; and where children’s individual passions and interests are nurtured and respected.
But above all, as the name of our school implies, we are determined to empower our students and cultivate leaders, to create confident, happy Chassidim who will change the world.
