A letter by the Rebbe that surprisingly reached Moreshet Auctions and is relevant to these days
At the beginning of the week, to the Moreshet Auction House came a Jew who served in the IDF in the period before the Yom Kippur War. He was holding a letter that was sent by the Rebbe in response to a letter sent to the Rebbe by IDF soldiers after Purim 1973.
In the letter, the Rebbe emphasizes the need for unity among the Jewish people stating that although our people are scattered among the nations, they are a single nation united by the love they feel one towards the other:
Later the Rebbe refers to IDF soldier’s military service, stating that surely, they do not need to be reminded of this uniqueness of the Jewish people and blessing them that they merit defending not only the physical borders of Eretz Yisrael but also its spiritual ones:
The letter is now displayed on the Moreshet website as part of a special catalog introducing dozens of Chabadic items including most of the Rebbe’s Chalukot that were given directly by him, beginning with a pocket edition of the Tanya that was handed out in 1972, through Tanyas with an enclosed dollar, Kuntresim, dollars and coins and ending with the last Chalukah of Purim Katan 1992.
A special section is dedicated to special gifts for the upcoming New Year: letter by the Rebbe for the New Year, elegantly framed; the Rebbe’s coins inlaid in silver chains; Tehillim books inlaid with fabric from the Rebbe’s Hitva’adut tablecloth and more.
A place of honor at the end of the catalog is given to Igrot Kodesh by our Rebbes: a historical letter by the Rebbe the Rayatz about the Teheran Children and the outrageous response of the members of the Mizrachi, a “responsum” note handwritten by the Rebbe, letters with additions and special blessings.
Do not miss the opportunity! The live auction will be held TOMORROW, Sunday 9/22/2024, at 8:00 PM (Israel time).
