Sara, a Jewish woman who was trapped in an Arab village for over 10 years before being rescued by the Yad L’Achim, is slated to share her story in cities across the United States.
The first leg of the tour was announced 3 days ago and will take place in the state of Florida, scheduled to begin on Sunday, February 10 and will include 14 events across the Sunshine State:
Chabad of Sarasota, Beis Moshiach, Chabad of Golden Beach, Chabad Downtown Jewish Center in Miami, Aventura Chabad, Hallandale Chabad, The Palm Beach Synagogue, Chabad of Delray Beach, Las Olas Chabad Jewish Center in Fort Lauderdale, The Shul of Bal Harbour in Surfside, Beis Menachem of N. Miami Beach, Chabad of Lincoln road, and Chabad of Boca Raton West.
Incredibly, as the Florida leg of the tour was announced, a supporter contacted Yad L’Achim saying that they wanted to donate a dollar of the Rebbe to help benefit the organization.
When the dollar was received at the offices of the organization, staff were shocked to discover what was written on the back of the 1988 dollar bill. The one who originally received it wrote that the Rebbe gave the bill “For Florida Convention.”
“For us, this is a clear sign of blessing from Heaven for the tour,” says Yossi Eliav, director of Special Projects and organizer of the tour. “The tour is a large undertaking and a lot of work, this dollar from the Rebbe has infused everyone involved with a lot of chizzuk and enthusiasm. For Yad L’Achim to receive a dollar from the Rebbe just now with a clear mention of Florida events on it.. there really are no words to describe the feeling.”
