Mystoryteller.com, a new website launched this week features ten captivating audio tracks recorded by master storyteller Rabbi Sholem Perl, a veteran Los Angeles rebbi.
“Rabbi Perl has a talent shared by few,” says Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, director of Chayolei Tzivos Hashem, who spearheaded the project.
Indeed, the suspenseful tales—theatrical drama, music, and sound effects—capture the imagination of children of all ages while inculcating Torah values: patience, generosity, sensitivity, respect, courage, accountability, and honesty.
“Rabbi Perl’s rich and vivid delivery of these historical events … truly exemplify the “Koiach maaisav higid lamoi” of a chasidishe maase,” says Rabbi Mendy Greenbaum, principal of Cheder Menachem of Los Angeles.
“My hope is that these stories of tzadikim will affect the hearts and minds of today’s youth,” Rabbi Perl said. “We are excited to share them with the chayolim of Tzivos Hashem.”
The CDs, ranging from 6 – 46 minutes and priced between $2.99 and $8.99 are now on sale for a limited-time introductory price in honor of Yud Tes Kislev and Chanuka: all ten CDs can be purchased at the low cost of $39.99. Once a CD is purchased, parents gain automatic membership to the storyteller club, receiving special updates when new tracks are produced.
Rabbi Mendy Shanowitz, director of MyShliach, an organization dedicated to the well-being of Shluchim’s children, says, “This is a dream come true for parents who are shluchim in remote cities around the world. The nachas they get from watching their children sit down and listen to the story of Chof Daled Teves or Yud Tes Kislev…makes this whole project worthwhile.”
