The suspect who stole a scooter on Shabbos was arrested Monday evening after attempting to sell the stolen property.
Following multiple sighting reports from the community, Crown Heights Shmira located the vehicle and observed the perpetrator removing the scooter from his car and attempting to sell it. Shmira immediately contacted the NYPD while maintaining surveillance.
Officers arrived quickly and arrested the suspect. The stolen scooter was recovered and returned to its owner.
It appears that the perpetrator likely lives locally in the neighborhood.
