Gombo’s Bakery in Crown Heights at 328 Kingston Avenue was burglarized on Shabbos, and the thief was quickly arrested by the NYPD.
While conducting extra coverage of the Crown Heights area for the Chanuka holiday, two NYPD patrol officers were at President Street and Kingston Avenue and found an individual leaving the bakery establishment through the basement with a cash register in his possession.
The alleged perp has an extensive arrest history including over 10 prior burglary arrests, the NYPD said.
The investigation is still ongoing as the owner of the premises could not be reached until after Shabbos to review camera footage.
The perpetrator will be charged and processed for burglary, police said.
He was probably stealing donuts…they are so expensive!
It’s true. The milchig ones are 5.00!
And will then be released an hour later.
While I’m grateful that there were police there, and that they apprehended him, the fact that he has 10 prior burglaries on his rap sheet, seems to indicate whatever our society is doing with him is not preventing him from further burglaries…
& he’s still not locked up.
That’s how crazy Justice is, I’ve been saying this for years….. give it another TEN times maybe Justice when wake up…….wow……. it’s so mind-boggling
It is very mind-boggling. How could the justice system be so lazy?
Irresistible!
He probably kneaded the dough.
No doubt, the criminal will be released from jail as NYC has a revolving door policy, thanks to De Blasio
The guy has 10 prior burglaries!!! Why on earth is he roaming the streets!!! That’s insane!!!

Mezuzahs:
It is important for everyone to have their Mezuzahs and Tefillin regularly checked, As well to make sure that all Door posts in your business & home have Mezuzahs.
Store Owners in Crown Heights that do not have gates already & only have Beautiful Glass Windows/Doors, should very seriously consider getting full Gates on their Stores for Safety as soon as possible (Although this may be expensive for many stores but this extra cost of installing gates is a much cheaper cost than constant broken windows and property theft)
