The group of Talmidim-Shluchim at Yeshivas Tzeirei Hashluchim in Tzfas, Israel, put together a beautiful model Kinus Hashluchim for the young bochurim whose fathers were in New York for the annual convention.
In the previous years, when these bochurim were around Bar Mitzvah age, they attended the special Kinus for Shluchim kids.
This year, the yeshiva wanted them to relive those moments – emphasizing their uniqueness of growing up on Shlichus and their current mission of learning well and going on Mivtzoim.
The “kinus” began Thursday night, learning some of the Rebbe’s sichos about shlichus and continued on Friday with a kayaking trip.
Shabbos was spent with the guest Mashpia from Kfar Chabad – Rabbi Michoel Tayeb who shared stories by the meals and farbrengen. Shabbos ended with a festive Melave Malka.
On Sunday morning the yeshiva visited the gravesite of the Rebbe’s brother R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib Schneerson and took a traditional group picture. They also visited the Safrus Center in Tzfas.
As in New York, the “kinus” ended with a gala banquet Sunday evening where videos of the Rebbe were shown and Mashpiim and bochurim spoke.
Clips of the International Kinus Hashluchim banquet held this year in a Brooklyn Pier were shown.
“This kinus brought a special chayus to the bochurim that usually attend the kinus with their father,” said Rabbi Chaim Kaplan, Director of the Yeshiva.
A roll call naming the origin of each bochur’s city of Shlichus showed the scope of the Shlichus network and the Yeshiva’s geographic reach.
And, as expected, it was followed by “spontaneous dancing.”
