Rabbi Yitzchok Schochet is the rabbi of Mill Hill Synagogue in London, UK; member of the chief rabbi’s cabinet; and chairman of the Rabbinical Council.
In a new video, he says that one of the more tragic elements of this disease is that people are dying alone – no one to hold their hands; no one to say the Shema; no one to say goodbye. But in keeping with our tradition, no one really dies alone.

Tears… Just tears…
Thank you for addressing a very harsh subject. I have been thinking about this. Your chizuk is powerful and appreciated.
Ive been thinking about this a lot…
That was such a reassuring post during what is such a scary and unsettling time.
So powerful. So sad. Thank you. Moshiach now!
So true. I was so fortunate to be with my mother, a”h just as she was dying. She mouthed a call to her mother. I was able to say vidui to her as she had lost consciousness by the time I found it on http://www.chabad.org. This was just a few weeks before the onslaught of the covid-19 virus. How fortunate it was for us.
We need our Chabad heavyweights to post more content like this for us. Iacobson, Schochet, Freedman, Bryski etc. Please. Maybe Torahcafe can organise something. We all need stuff like this.
