It was in the midst of the Simchas Torah Farbrengen, and the thin wooden planks holding up the massive crush of people on the bleachers at the far end of 770 finally gave way, and one unlucky Bochur felt a shot of terrible pain as his foot hit the ground with the weight of dozens of people falling on top of him.
Hatzalah Paramedics were quickly called and he was evacuated to the hospital where his broken leg was treated.
Moments after Yom Tov the young Bochur, his injured foot now in a cast and hobbling on crutches, was in a taxi back to 770 where, owing to his state, he was allowed to skip most of the line and was shortly standing in front of the Rebbe with his cup to receive Kos Shel Brocho.
“Dos iz der bochur vus gefallen” – “this is the Bochur that fell,” Rabbi Groner (who earlier that day had notified the Rebbe of what had happened) said, as he came forward.
“Gefallen?!” “That fell?!” the Rebbe asked with a wave of his holy hand, “sheva yipol tzaddik vekom!” – “Seven times a Tzaddik falls and gets back up.”

We know who the Shliach is in every far corner of planet earth, who is there to provide a Kosher meal, a warm hug and hopefully a reignited connection to Torah, for our lost brothers off the beaten path.
But what about for you and me, if sometimes we feel that we may fall?
When you were in Yeshiva or Seminary, maybe all that was needed that one night was a Geshmakeh Chassidisheh Niggun to lift your soul.
Or perhaps, as life goes on and challenges grow, it’s an empathetic ear to pour a heart out to during a moment of crisis between parents and children, husband and wife, or talmid and teacher?
Today, when the spiritual scars of free access for every form of temptation and sin have left no home untouched, few families need to be told about the gift of Rabbi Mendel Lipskier from Sherman Oaks, CA.
Rabbi Lipskier, together with his wife Shternie, are dedicated Shluchim at the Chabad Center of Sherman Oaks, California, under the leadership of Rabbi Moshe and Ruty Weiss.
In addition, Rabbi Lipskier spends untold hours each day, week, and year, listening, guiding, and referring young and old, from every corner of the world of Lubavitchers, with love, dedication, and wisdom.
Rabbi Lipskier gives Chosson classes, marriage counseling and relationship advice. He helps so many find their way to a better place, helping them find the way from darkness to light.
So today, his Shlichus, which has been a source of support to more of the people that you know and love than you can even imagine, is running a campaign at www.chabadso.com/give.
Please take a moment to help his vital Shlichus continue to grow and help many others.
Rabbi Lipskier is there day and night to answer our call – today is our chance to answer his.

For so many bochurim who enjoy listening to and learning nigunim through heichel haneginah, he is the original compiler of all the recordings of elterer chasidim. Chabad music owes a large debt a gratitude to Rabbi Lipskar.
A real gem
Nice article, but in my opinion underestimate Rabbi Lipskier’s achievements. He’s literally involved in saving lives, and is BH very successful.
May Reb Mendel have even greater success in all that he does, personal and public.
