Where would I have been in life without Rabbi Kranz
September 6, 2011 1:03 am

I met Rabbi Kranz on the first night of Chanukah in Pacific Beach, California (outside San Diego) – my life was changed forever by this true shaliach in every sense of the word – his loss is immeasurable – his impact in his life was boundless

my uncle the rabbi

most of you knew my uncle yankel as a charismatic shaliach who did so much for so many. i knew him as an uncle who always had a good joke and a good word for all of us.. who always respected his older siblings like my father, and especially as a little girl, as a towering imposing figure when he walked in the door. My son is also the first relative to carry his name after his tragic loss. He arrived on this earth under terrible conditions in Russia, and left us far too soon. May his memory be a… Read more »

As his child, my siblings and I knew a different side of our father than everyone else and yet it is still incredible to hear new stories and thoughts about him from so many people even 20 years after his passing. It is truly a testament to his character. Thank you all for taking the time to share your thoughts as they are all truly meaningful and greatly appreciated.

A friend and a mentor
September 5, 2011 2:12 pm

Rabbi Yankel Kranz z’l was an amazing Chosid, a rare human being, a true mentor and a real friend. I have been speaking about him all weekend and sharing his unique gifts with my congregants and students. Surely he is and will continue to be “a guta beter” for his children, grandchildren, Talmidim, Mushpoim and for all of his loved ones.

Have we forgotten that behind every great shlaich stands a great shlucha?

It was Mrs Fay Kranz Greene who stood behind him and helped every step of the way with her own talents and kindness and brilliance.

You were a great shlucha you are a great mom and great grandmother.

Sara writes “During that first year in Yeshiva, my father wanted to return home to Danielson to join his family for Pesach.” I was at that seder (he was my uncle), and I still remember it as an electrifying religious experience. Later I spent time with him as a college student, and he changed my mind about a lot of issues I was struggling with. May his memory be a blessing to us all, and may all his children know the same peace of mind and unity of purpose that he was blessed with. – Moshe Kranc

Anyone who met Yankel Kranz never forgot him. His impact on everyone who he touched will be felt forever. His simchas hachayim, ahavas yisroel and hiskashrus to the Rebbe were infectious. It was a zchus to be one of his girls 🙂

Rabbi Kranz was one great guy! He was always there for you! He did the leg work, as I was already wanted to go, in getting me into Beis Rivkah and finding me a wonderful family to live with & he found money to pay for it! He kept in touch, he came to visit and talk with me when he was in NY at any hour. He is often in my thoughts, especially now at the time of his yahrtzeit. Wishing his family only simchas and nachas! Moshiach NOW!!!

Wow what a powerful booklet
