To have to listen to over an hour of conversation to hear what the headline of this post entices?

Anyway, Tomchei and Achei Tmimim – the Rebbe’s schools – were created with half day Limudei kodesh and half day Limudei Chol, so there’s not much room for commentary by someone else on what “the Rebbe’s view” is for the masses. Though maybe the Rebbe told Rabbi Kaplan something for him to hear.

Oh really

I would recommend that instead of cherry picking, you look in the sichos, which are the rebbes written Torah and opinion, as to whether Lubavitch is pro teaching limudei chol.

Too Expensive
September 17, 2025 2:17 am

It was once the case that Lubavitch tought limudei chol al pi taharas hakodesh (see the Rebbe’s letters about this). This is an expensive endeavor as you need to pay additional salaries and the English teachers are only part time so it’s very hard to find employees. Administrators realized they can do away with it l’gamri, especially at the high school level, claim it’s a religious value, and the rest is history.

So many things have been lost since gimmul tamuz and this is one of them.
