“In all of its wars against the nations of the world, the nation of Israel always wins despite being outnumbered.”
These are the words that the Rebbe wrote to Chassidim in a letter written before Yom Kippur in 1973.
The letter was written on the 6th of Tishrei, the yartzeit of Rebbetzin Chana Schneerson OBM, the mother of the Rebbe.
It arrived in Israel just before the fast day and hours before the neighboring Arab countries waged a deadly war on Israel, which has become known as the Yom Kippur War.
In the letter, the Rebbe wrote that the Jewish nation is counted by quality and not quantity and that Jewish people will win each war until the coming of Moshiach.
This letter appeared in the Yedioth Aharonot newspaper. A clipping of it was shared now on social media, with many taking notice that the report was published on October 8, exactly 50 years ago.
Israel is currently in the midst of a war with Hamas terrorists from Gaza, who led an orchestrated and unprecedented assault on Simchas Torah. 700 were killed, over 2,000 injured and many kidnapped and accounted for.
Chassidim sharing the newspaper clipping, wished that the Rebbe’s blessings would be fulfilled again and that Israel would prevail.
He wrote instead the nation of israel.
I was on a domestic US flight in 2001.
Sitting next to me was an African lady.
So, she engaged me in conversation
about the so-called “intifada.”
At the end of our flight, I told her,
“It seems that the more we give them, the
more they hate us.” She replied, “That’s because
you are giving back land that G-d promised you.”

the rebbe said all wars,
this isn’t a blessing, but a nevuah and havtacha.
