If you see the sign behind the Rebbe, it says in hebrew “Chof Shonoh linesi’us Ch”ak Admu”r Shlit”a” which shows that it was Tof shin lamed 5730, so it is correct that it was 40 years ago.
Thank you COL to post this moiredike video!
We hope you’ll post more of this. It poshut makes people live with the Rebbe much more.

40 years ago this, 20 years ago that, what about 10 years ago? what about today?

no I’m not setting up a nice ad mosai rally cry. that ‘s been done.

I’d like to know who’s got something fresh and alive for the real living folks today.

It was not a park it was the sports field of the high school.
The rebbe was not scheduled to come there. R Yudel was taking the Rebbe to the oihel and he asked the Rebbe if he would want to pass by the Preformance portiaon of the parade. the rebbe said yes. This was an amazing surprise for all the bochurim who had worked yomim vleilos on the parade and a fantastic unbelievable simcha.

A bygone era
April 25, 2010 12:15 pm

The video was very emotional, bringing to life a taste of a bygone era. these video was taken about 20 years before i was born. Things seemed more real then, posters proclaiming the sanctity of shabbos and there seemed to be a focus on the things that mattered. is it just me or yiddsihkeit become jaded to the point that we are making hay over trivial matters while letting the big picture? In any case, watching the video was like going into a time machine: crown heights is clearly in a different era and highlights how much we are missing… Read more »

Thank you so much for posting this.
I really want to see the Rebbe!!!! It was so beautiful to watch the Rebbe in this video, so obviously happy with what he was watching, and I really and truly want to see the Rebbe with my own eyes. I want to march by 770, and see the Rebbe waving at me, smiling at all the children marching past. I never had that experience – I’m too young, and now I want to have it!!!
By the way, are there floats being made for this year’s parade? If yes, by who?
