Residents of the Nachlas Har Chabad neighborhood in Kiryat Malachi have been excitedly talking about a letter of the Rebbe that was delivered 43 years after it was written.
It was delivered on the 11th of Shevat to Rabbi Yisroel Glitzenstein, a local Chabad chossid who served for many years as a Shliach in Israel’s southernmost city of Eilat.
Rabbi Glitzenstein spend several years near the Rebbe while learning at Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch – 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights and has memorized and recorded details encounters during those times.
The letter he received last week was written on the 15th of Kislev 5739. “This letter came to now for the very first time,” he said. “It is simple, astounding and very very moving.”
He said the timing of the letter was moving because he is marrying off his first granddaughter named Chaya Mushka and the letter discusses the 50th anniversary of the wedding of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson OBM.
He said it was also the 50th anniversary of the first time he merited to see the Rebbe.
Most surprising was the line the Rebbe wrote: “For (whichever) reason, the sending of this letter was delayed.”
נורא ואיום
משולם פייוול הכהן חרך
According the rabbi ישראל גליצנשטיין, this year is the 50th anniversary from when he first saw the rebbe (during the year 5732).
Since he came on his own (not as part of the Kevutza which arrived during Nissan 5732 to learn here for one year), on should find out from him exactly on which day he arrived here
About the chassidim and their first time coming to the Rebbe…
B”H
How did he get the letter? Where was it all these years? Why wasn’t it delivered earlier?
Thanks for sharing
is it a secret
