At Chabad of Myrtle Beach, we have Chassidim from Brooklyn, Monroe, and Monsey visiting throughout the winter. Two of them were our guests last Shabbat.
This morning, one of the long-coated, round-hatted chassidim left this note with his online donation:
“What a beautiful and spiritual Shabbos we had!”
Last year, a Lubavitch family from Crown Heights remarked that their Pesach in Myrtle Beach was the “most spiritual” one they ever had. Doubting myself, I called them up to ask if perhaps that meant that something in their accommodations was lacking…?
“No,” they said. “That’s exactly what we were missing in our previous Pesach programs.” They meant their comment in earnest: This is what is important to them, not what is secondary.
So let me tell you why people walk away inspired.
I’ll say it again: We are not your common Pesach program.
We will provide the Seder and the meals for the whole holiday. Our promise and obligation is to deliver the most beautiful dining room and delicious cuisine. We and our families will celebrate with you, so you can rest assured that we have the deepest respect and honor for the yom tov.
We open our home to the public because we feel the need, in our generation, to celebrate together. We do this as part of shlichut. And that is the reason.
We’ll have chassidic families with their children and grandchildren, we will have single parents with their children, and we will have teens at risk with their parents who’ve returned this year for another experience that impacted them for the better. All of us will be one big family supporting one another in walking out of Exile and going on to the Redemption.

The best part is spending time with the incredible shluchim!
My family and I recently were in Myrtle Beach on business. I was so excited to see a daily Minyan, a Mikvah, and even Shiurim.
