COLlive.com presents Shabbos Night Live, a weekly web class with Torah thought, chassidic stories and timely inspiration.
Presented by Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Executive Director of the Central Lubavitch Youth Organization (Tzach Hamerkazis) and a veteran columnist and radio broadcaster.
On this week’s program:
Parshas Vayikra-Hachodesh:
The first ten crowns that Rosh Chodesh Nissan got was the Mitzvah of “Hachodesh Hazeh Lochem” that we start counting the Jewish months from Nissan. One of the other crowns was the dedication of the Mishkan on the same day next year. The difference between the two times is the difference between darkness and light, oppression and freedom. Nevertheless, what gave us the strength to dedicate the Mishkan “next year” was the fact that while we were still in Egypt we fulfilled the commandment of Hashem of “Hachodeah Hazeh Lochem.
Also: Where is the similarity between the sun and the moon and the body and the soul? And what is the lesson from that?
Weekly story: What did the Rebbe tell a slim and healthy man who suddenly couldn’t stop eating.
Why did the video totally stop @ 19;53 ? Not fair!
in the 6th line of vehaya im shamoa of shema it says veachalta vesovoto.
It is also in Mezuzah
Great story! Yasher koiach Rabbi Butman.
he meant tefilin…veachlta vesavata is in the 4th paragraph in the tefilin…
Please check your Mezuzah. It has 2 Parshiyos, Shema Yisroel and Vehoyo im Shomoa. The second Parsha has the words VEOCHALTO VESOVOTO.
I thought that in a mezuza there is shema not ACHALTA VISAVALTA where is that part in the mezuza!?!
