The makor is actually tosfos in Gemara berachos daf lamed Alef amud Alef where the Gemara is discussing the posuk ivdu es Hashem beyirah “vegiluy biradah” that in a place of Happyness “giluy” in our case a chasena, should be trembeling “readah”.that’s why we have the custom to break the glass to have a sense trembeling and awe at a time of overwhelming joy.
