In 1997, I read of a family in Washington, DC that gave a full-on party on the occasion of the birth milah of their son, who was adopted from a Jewish mother. As can happen under the adoption rules at that time and place, the birth mother changed her mind, so the adoptive parents returned the son to her. The story is similar in that the recipient of the kindness was unaware of the emotional outpouring, but nevertheless received the blessings.

WOW! Didn't know your Zaide...but I love him now!!
