The best views of this year’s Lag BaOmer parade may be in the palms of your hands. Ensuring that there won’t be any bad seats this year, the Jewish.TV app will stream the parade live.
This year’s parade will be streamed live here on this website and on Chabad.org’s Jewish.TV — and now also on Jewish.TV’s popular video app.
Streaming the event live will enable people around the world to tune in and enjoy the parade, but organizers also wanted the parade available on the Jewish.TV app, created by Chabad.org, so participants at the parade can get close-up shots from the comfort of their seats on their smartphone.
Many participants are planning to bring their fully charged phones for some of those great closeups, and that’s causing concern for some that mobile phone networks in the local area won’t be able to handle the surge in bandwidth going through the network.
This concern doesn’t come without precedent. During the Kinus Hashluchim in 2010, Cablevision systems in parts of Brooklyn reported issues as their systems were overwhelmed because of the live streaming of the Kinus and a heavy concentration of viewers watching on their network.
Technicians at Chabad.org said that they will be monitoring the developments closely throughout the broadcast. The Jewish.TV team have coordinated for camera feeds from the parade which will be transmitted and mixed live, incorporating both live as well as pre-recorded footage, ensuring an enjoyable and enlightening experience for viewers from around the world.
Whether you will be at the parade or one thousand miles away, get ready for this exciting event by downloading the free Jewish.tv app here.
