Ahead of the launch of a technology center in Crown Heights, a special training event this Tuesday will train computer-savvy men and women in making devices safe and enable them to give to the community.
Young people everywhere offer time to give back to the community, in the form of Hatzalah, Shomrim, or other community organizations. A new initiative in Crown Heights offers those who are computer savvy an opportunity to give to the community.
Crown Heights is about to get its own technology safety office. Safe Tech CH will service Crown Heights families to answer the growing need for safe technology in our community. Computer-savvy men and women can join the team, where they will help the community and be paid for their time.
This Tuesday, Rosh Chodesh Adar, February 21, a 4-hour training course will take place at JCM theater for technology technicians. The course will begin at 6:00 pm sharp and will last 4 hours. A hot supper buffet will be served.
Master instructor Rabbi Eliyahu Meirfield, head of TAG in Waterbury, CT and director of opening new centers at TAG headquarters, will train the new technicians.
After the entry course, technicians will practice at the new office to achieve the highest level of professionalism. Technicians will then join the team at the new office by installing filters on various devices according to their hours of operation. Members will be given an hourly stipend as well as other types of appreciation.
The course is free of charge and is for men and women (separate seating).

As a member of the frum community, I struggled with viewing inappropriate content on the internet. Despite being raised with strong values and a commitment to my faith, I found myself repeatedly drawn to material that went against everything I believed in. This was a difficult and embarrassing experience that left me feeling ashamed and alone. I initially turned to the internet for innocent reasons, but over time, I became curious about topics that were not suitable for someone in my position. The more I explored, the more difficult it became to resist the temptation to view inappropriate material. I… Read more »

A Lubavitcher today needs a smart phone. As a computer programmer, there is only one way to control, what is inappropriate in the smart phone world. No one is looking up !! Hi let’s go of their phone ( tv! Entertainment device) for a second. Nearly every parent , teacher , therapist , babysitter, DRIVER) is on all day. It’s not only about the content ( but thank you TAG) people are wasting away their lives.
The internet is klipas noga just like the streets of brooklyn. instead of wringing hands about the temptations and “poisons” why not teach and learn how to make good choices. that’s the avoida of a person – choose from noga and use for good.
Not 100%. In general the idea of the internet is Klipas Noga, however there are parts that are just outright Shlosh Klipois Hatmeio’is. This must be cleansed, and that’s what this is all about.
I will attend this event on Sunday because it’s an excellent opportunity to learn and implement technology safety for my friends and family. Such as avoiding malware and preventing hacks and spam from keeping my financial and personal info safe from bad actors. Etc… This is what the new technology center in Crown Heights will be offering and are encouraging, correct?
