The first Rosh Chodesh Kislev farbrengen / Seudos Hodoah 5772 was honoured at Tzemach Tzedek Community Centre, Sydney Australia.
On this day in 1977, the Lubavitcher Rebbe returned to his home after suffering a major heart attack five weeks earlier, on the eve of Shemini Atzeret.
From that day on, the Rebbe redoubled his efforts on behalf of the Jewish nation and all of humanity, and for the dissemination of Torah and chassidism. From then on, the first of Kislev is celebrated as a day of thanksgiving and rejoicing.
In Sydney, Rabbis Gourarie and Perlow farbrenged with live music from Chazzan Yehoshua Niasoff.
The annual Rosh Chodesh Kislev farbrengen is sponsored by Rabbi Yitzchok and Rochy Barber to honour the brochos they received for their own miraculous recovery in their family.
The newly arrived Bochurim and Shluchim to the Yeshiva Centre attended as well as many of the anash of Sydney.
The farbrengen continued to the early hours of the morning. Rabbi Gourarie encouraged everyone to take on a Hachlota to learn Chassidus everyday and to write into The Rebbe telling him you have made the Hachlota.
