The NYPD’s Hate-Crime Task Force is investigating the sighting of a single swastika on a sidewalk of the Crown Heights Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn.
While such graffiti was not a first in the area, Officer Vincent Martinos of the NYPD’s 71st Precinct told COLlive.com, “We have not seen (this) in a while.”
The Nazi symbol was spray-painted on Montgomery Street near Brooklyn Avenue and found on Sunday morning, according to the NY Daily News.
The office of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted: “Acts of violence in our beautifully diverse city will not be tolerated. We are all better than this.”
Community activist Yaacov Behrman told the newspaper that he was not surprised by the incident.
“I’m used to this. Seeing a swastika upsets me, but I’m sort of numb. I see hatred, I know there’s racists and anti-Semitism in the world,” said Behrman, who lives two blocks from where this latest incident occurred.
“We condemn this in the strongest terms. This is completely unacceptable,” he said.
COLlive was told that extra police patrols are being added to the area for the time-being.

Only 8% of blacks voted for Trump. The rate of blacks in Brooklyn voting for Hillary is probably even higher. So it’s at least a 92% chance that it wasn’t a trump supporter.

First of all, White Supremacists as far as I ever heard, don’t even live in Crown Heights, and it would likely have been too risky to just be driving through to stop and spray it onto a sidewalk in public where anyone looking out a window could see who did it and get their license plate #. Given that Trump was openly endorsed by the KKK, it’s more than likely a Trump supporter than a liberal upset with the election results. That’s the problem with supporting a hateful bigot; sooner or later their hate will turn to you. It’s astonishing how people fail to connect the dots.
