A grand party was held Thursday night in Crown Heights to mark the birthday of Menachem Benchemon, founder of the Footagers group on WhatsApp and a local community activist.
The party has been organized by a group of his friends “as a small token of appreciation for all his work on behalf of the community,” they said.
Benchemon is known for organizing communal farbrengens to mark Chassidishe Yomim Tovim, such as Vov Tishrei, Hei Teves, and others. He also organizes many other projects, such as busses to the Ohel for bochurim as well as for men, women and children, for various special days.
“Menachem has dedicated his life, and has done much good, for the community,” his friends said. “We invite the entire community to stop by tonight and wish Menachem a happy birthday and a year of hatzlacha.”
