Important Medical Awareness Event Coming To Crown Heights!
Don’t Miss It!
The women of the Crown Heights community will have a rare opportunity to hear crucial medical information from leading experts in their fields on Sunday, Oct. 7, in Razag Ballroom. Comprehensive lectures will be delivered on several ever-important areas of cancer prevention and how to detect potentially life-threatening circumstances before they reach a critical stage.
The gathering is being arranged by the Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society (RCCS) specifically for the Crown Heights community.
The crowd will hear from leading medical professionals. Dr. Michael J. Zelfesky, MD, Vice Chair of radiation Oncology in Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center will discuss “Practical Steps and Suggestions for Living a Healthier Life and Reducing Your Cancer Risk”. Dr. Tova C. Koenigsberg, MD FACR, Chief of Division of Breast imaging at Montefiore Medical Center will discuss “Women’s Health and Early Detection.” Rabbi Y. Y. Jacobson will also address the event through a video message and light refreshments will be served.
A highlight of the event will be a moving speech entitled “A Survivor’s Perspective”, delivered by Sara Alevsky. The crowd will hear from Rabbi Moshe Klein, a member of the Application Committee of RCCS, who will describe some of the untold amount of work that goes into each case.
What is RCCS?
The Rofeh Cholim Cancer Society provides an array of services to cancer patients and their families, enabling them to secure the best possible medical care. Notably, among the myriad services offered by RCCS is health insurance premium and medical services subsidies, as well as medical direction, which provides patients with broader access to global oncologists and leaders in the cancer treatment field.
Will there be a recording or the posibility to see it live?
Whether or not cancer is preventable it certainly is possible to catch it early and prevent it from spreading!
Please please don’t ignore symptoms and teach your family members to recognise the warning signs. Tell your children who are studying away from home that if they notice that their friends don’t look well, they should speak up.
They may be saving a life!
I say this from personal experience.
If this event is only for women, they should write so on their ad. It’s being passed around on WhatsApp without mention that it’s only for women…
I live out of town and would love to be able to hear a recording of this event. Can that please be arranged?
Thank you to the organizers but the word prevention can be a bit misconstrued. Unfortunately Im not sure if we can really ‘prevent’ cancer, but we can definitely try to improve our lifestyles and try with Gds help to deter it for that yashaar koach for this important lecture!
