In a historic first for the city of Miami Beach, 16 local Shuls and Mosdos from every denomination of frum Jewry co-hosted and participated in a jubilant Simchas Beis Hashoeiva celebration.
They were joined by many hundreds more from around South Florida, who thronged to the Beach for the unprecedented occasion.
The event was spearheaded by Bais Menachem of Miami Beach and featured Jewish singing sensations Yoni Z, Gad Elbaz, and Simchas Beis Hashoeiva pioneer and mainstay Avi Piamenta accompanied by his son, Mendy.
Miami Beach police closed the street to traffic, and close to 3,000 men, women and children showed up for a night that will not soon be forgotten. The evening’s breathtaking lighting, sound, and stage production were directed by Choni Productions.
The excitement was palpable and the dancing went on for hours. The entire community coming together and dancing as one was a sight to behold. Jugglers, fire-performers, and stilt-walkers regaled the crow, reminiscent of the Simchas Beis Hashoeiva festivities of old in the Beis Hamikdosh.
Rabbi Leibel Schapiro of Bais Menachem addressed the crowd, noting the significance of the occasion and explaining the meaning of Simchas Bais Hashoevah.
The organizers were aided by a team of tireless volunteers who were present before, during, and after the event.
Grillmasters Bruce Garfinkle and Frank Bortunk served freshly barbequed fare to the endless stream of celebrating locals and visitors, to be eaten in the 2 large sukkas built specially for the occasion.
Roving balloon makers and bounce houses, cotton candy and snow cones, kept the youngest attendees in great spirits throughout the night. The evening left community leaders and members alike with a renewed energy and a shared sense of Achdus.
The event was supported by these corporate sponsors Haimov Jewelers, Kedem, Kerem Chabad, and LTC Solutions.
