In preparation for Gimmel Tammuz, over 600 Jewish communities offered a new, innovative social learning program to engage their communities with the Rebbe’s Torah.
Created by the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI), “Sparks of Wisdom” was a new social learning offering a neatly designed booklet containing ten short and powerful nuggets of the Rebbe’s Torah.
The self-explanatory texts and engaging questions are designed to trigger group discussion and reflection, as has happened at the Chabad centers and shuls it was taught around the world.
One Shliach later told JLI that he has been studying the booklet with a Jewish man who isn’t a member of the Chabad community.
“In one of our studies, the subject of his son’s Bar Mitzvah came up, and he told me that it was going to be taking place at a non-kosher hotel with a fish menu, which he thought would be fine.”
Within a week of learning about the Rebbe, the man convinced his wife to hire a kosher caterer from a nearby city and didn’t mind that they needed to pay more for the venue…
