Students Memorize Full Mesechta

Eight students of Mesivta Tomchei Tmimim Chovevei Torah memorized the entire Mesichta Megilah, and were recognized this week for their efforts.

Bochurim Menachem Mendel Zirkind, Boruch Schneur Zalman Kraus, Mordechai Shachna Moskowitz, Menachem Mendel Shuchat, Yona ElHarar, Tzvi Leib Halevi Lewin, Naftoli Reinitz, and Menachem Mendel Perl spent the year studying diligently and memorizing what they learned.

Maagid shiur Rabbi Eli Simpson said, “The bochurim worked hard on this throughout the year. During the year, they were tested on 5 blatt at a time, then 10, 15 and finally 30.”

Earlier this week, they were tested on the entire mesichta by the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Zushe Winner, who was amazed at their knowledge and proficiency.

At a special event Wednesday, Rabbi Shimon Aaron Rosenfeld, an alumnus of the yeshiva, presented the bochurim with certificates from the Yeshiva and cash prizes that he generously sponsored. He spoke words of encouragement and inspiration about the importance of learning and retaining Torah knowledge. In his closing words, he told the bochurim that he would be back next year to again give cash prizes to those who would take the challenge.

Rabbi Menachem Minsky, menahel, presented many seforim as prizes to others who excelled in their learning. He then introduced a special guest Mora D’asra Rabbi Yeshaya Braun to farbreng with the bochurim. In his talk, Rabbi Braun brought out the prime focus on learning and teaching Torah of the Rebbe with many stories and examples. He encouraged the tmimim to use their summer time to continue learning with great diligence.
