The enduring admiration and still tender emotions of a community were expressed for Shlucha Chaya Zlata Geisinsky obm, Tuesday evening, on the first eve of Rosh Chodesh Tamuz, at a large event at the JCC of Greather Washington auditorium-theater Maryland.
Mrs. Geisinsky passed away in the prime of her life, Rosh Chodesh Tamuz (1 Tamuz) 5770. The program was presented in two parts, beginning with a moving tribute delivered by her brother Rabbi Mendel Dubrawsky, Shliach of Dallas, TX who spoke about his sister’s extraordinary character, a rare combination of diverse attributes, both of mind and heart. These she imparted with nobility to touch the lives of literally thousands of people.
Zlata’s husband, Rabbi Bentzion Geisinsky opened the evening by thanking the hundreds in attendance for keeping his wife’s memory alive and for perpetuating her life’s work.
Rabbi Sender Geisinsky spoke about his mother as an exceptional educator as the Pre-School Director of the Hebrew Academy of Greater Washington, the area largest Torah observant School. He talked about how she impacted thousands of families in a very personal way. Her sensitivity and insight of people’s individual concerns made her a much loved mentor, admired by thousands on a personal level, and she caused a huge Kiddush Lubavitch.
Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan, Regional Director of Chabad in Maryland, shared concluding remarks focusing on the zchus of Shlichus and how Mrs. Geisinsky sowed the seeds of Shlichus in her family and amongst others; she was an example to follow.
The somber mood was then allowed to dissipate and the evening took on a mood of hope and inspiration, celebrating the life of Mrs. Geisinsky obm.
A full concert was performed by superstar of Chassidic song, Avraham Fried. Fried carefully chose just the right mix of songs to both honor the purpose of the event but to make sure that everyone would return home in an uplifted spirit and with a determined attitude.
As was mentioned by all the speakers, Mrs. Geisinky obm was an upbeat person and she endeavored through all her life to raise the spirit of others. She was the last person to willingly allow a person to leave her office or home with a broken heart. The program was scheduled to take place a day before her Yahrtzeit to allow for the musical part of the program.
Avrham Fried delivered a magnificent performance, raising the mood and uplifting all in attendance to hope and prayer for the end of golus. Avraham’s singing heightened the feelings and urgent wanting for the day when all of Klal Yisroel will be reunited in Yerushalaim with the Rebbe and each family with their loved ones in the final geulah, NOW!
We love you and miss you dearly! What a great person you were!!

In our mind you are alive, full of humor and joy, we miss you! moshiach Now!
mushkie you look so cute in a shaitel!
Countless people have been touch, individually and in a profound way, by Zlata. By example, with a simple down-to-earth approach, she provided a beacon of light around here.
The mikva, the pre-school, her open shabbos table are probably the know ways she reached out – I’m sure there are a lot of others who still have no words to express gratitude.
THANK YOU HASHEM for giving us Zlata.
you guys are the cutest couple!
