Four muggings which happened in Crown Heights in the last week may be part of a pattern, Police said.
The muggings at knifepoint took place this week, all between the hours of 12:00 to 1:30 am in Crown Heights.
2 of the muggings took place in the 71st Precinct area and 2 in the 77th Precinct area, a police spokesperson told COLlive. “We believe it is a pattern,” he said.
One victim was Jewish, one Hispanic and 2 others were black, police said.
The victim of the mugging which took place on Eastern Parkway and Albany Avenue was a Lubavitch man, who reported that the two perpetrators passed him on the street, and then turned around and began to follow him.
As soon as he realized he was being followed, one of the two men ran up to him with a knife and demanded that he hand over all his valuables.
The incident was recorded on surveillance video by SafeZone 24.
The other muggings took place on Park Pl and Albany Avenue, Lincoln Pl and Albany Avenue and Albany Avenue and Union Street.
Safe zone 24 is everywhere and it’s just great, they are helping stop crimes…
you would think that after four(!) muggings, armed no less, in the neighborhood, we would see more cops out patrolling the streets at night. But no, no such luck. Didnt see any extra cops out at all. What a disgrace.
They probably have turf and hang around there a lot.
How about Chaveirim, Shmira and Shomrim (and NYPD) case the street till they find these criminals.
Chap tzem!seems like we need to start again!!!
Hey the cameras are actually pretty good
hashem watch us , i know u can
These camera should be better as well as have better coverage ( if someone was monitoring the cameras there wouldn’t be a branch there)
Most likely took his phone along with his wallet (cash & I.D.), etc. So he was left unable to call for help, especially if punched or injured. Be careful late at night!
Scary, but they know how to look away from buildings & cover their faces where cameras are. The action took place near the curb & street by parked cars. This provided some cover for the perpetrators.
