Staff of the historic parade to mark 70 years of the Rebbe’s leadership on Yud Shvat met Sunday night to prepare for the spectacular event.
Bochurim who will be driving tanks, many of whom flew in from around the world to mark Yud Shvat in New York, gathered for a meeting with the parade organizers Sruli Lazar, Mendel Piekarski, Mendel Braun, Naftoli Wilhelm, and Mendel Mintz.
They were addressed by Mendel Goldberg and Yossi Rapp.
As Chassidim and world Jewry celebrate 70 years since the Rebbe assumed the role of leadership this Yud Shevat, 70 Mitzvah-tanks will parade from 770 across the bridge and into Manhattan, bringing this major celebration to the streets of New York.
The Mitzvah Tanks will drive through the city and reach thousands of Jews with the Rebbe’s timely message of Mitzvos and preparation for the imminent Geulah.
In Crown Heights, there will be no parking on President between Kingston and Brooklyn beginning from Monday, to accommodate parking for the Mitzvah Tanks.
Community members are invited to join the parade as well.
“I’m very excited and looking forward to joining with my own minivan,” said one community member. “I remember the parade we made for the 40th year anniversary of Yud Shevat back in 1990. The Rebbe came out of 770, watching as each tank passed by, one by one.”
Each Mitzvah Tank will be fully loaded with all the necessary materials, such as Tefilin, Shabbos candles and more.
All men, women and children are invited to come and join the celebration:
Tuesday 9 Shevat, February 4th, 10:30 AM at 770 Eastern Parkway Brooklyn, NY 11213.

May we merit, that just as we saw the Rebbe watching the 40 Mitzvah-Tanks parade in honor of 40 years of the Rebbe’s Nesius, may we see the Rebbe, gezunt, watching and encouraging these tanks as well. V’hu yolicheinu b’tankim l’artzeinu. Amen.
