Crown Heights Jewish Community Council has received the following information from the NYC Department of Sanitation:
The City will attempt to pick up all evergreen schach with special trucks on Monday. These trucks will pick up from the sidewalks only.
Residents should put out the schach in front of their homes no later than Sunday night (note: A lot of rain is forecast for Sunday so try to think ahead if you can).
Even if you usually have trash taken from the alley in the rear of your home, this special pickup will be only at the curb in front of your house.
Many thanks to Pinny Ringel of the Mayor’s office and Arna Lipkind from the office of council member Laurie Cumbo for helping to arrange this pickup.
Also thanks to Superintendent Rice for Brooklyn District 9 Sanitation for all his assistance over the holidays.
What about palm leaves and bamboo?
Or just left in a neat pile ?
Thank you
