Rabbi Elazar Lipsh, an elder Chabad Chossid from Kfar Chabad, Israel, passed away on Friday, 26 Tishrei, 5780.
He was 90.
Rabbi Lipsh was born in Poland, to his parents R’ Yosef Yehuda and Ettil Lipsh.
During World War II, he escaped to Kazan and remained in Siberia until after the War, when they traveled to Pocking, Germany. From there they escaped to Israel.
As a bochur he learned in the Yeshiva Achei Temimim in Tel Aviv with the Mashpia R’ Chaim Shaul Brook, and later in Lod, Israel.
In 1955 he married his wife Rivka, daughter of R’ Yehuda Shmotkin obm, and they settled in Bnei Brak, where he had founded a Chabad Center before his marriage. He began teaching in Achei Temimim Yeshiva in Rishon Letzion.
Throughout the years he also ran a Judaica and Jewish book store in Tel Aviv.
He later moved to Kfar Chabad, where he gave Shiurim for many years in Beis Menachem.
He is survived by his wife, Rivka Lipsh, and children Mrs. >Chiena Zaltzman – Canada, R’ Yitzchok Lipsh – Tzfas, Israel, Mrs. Etti Berkowitz – Rosh Pina, Israel, R’ Uri Mordechai Lipsh – Chaifa, Israel and R’ Dovber Moshe Lipsh – Natzeret Illit, Israel.
The levaya took place today in Israel.
