An Ohio teen who was never vaccinated for diseases as a child because of his parent’s decisions, is choosing to get the preventive shots now at 18.
Ethan Lindenberger of Norwalk, Ohio, reached out to Reddit users two months ago to ask whether he could be vaccinated as an adult.
“My parents think vaccines are some kind of government scheme … I’ve never been vaccinated for anything, God knows how I’m still alive,” he wrote. He asked “where do I go to get vaccinated? Can I get vaccinated at my age?”
He told “Good Morning America” on Tuesday that he never received vaccines for hepatitis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella or chickenpox.
“I saw that there were a lot of people with different opinions, and as I explored those opinions, I came to the conclusion that they were good and beneficial,” Lindenberger told GMA.
People choosing not to vaccinate have become a global health threat in 2019, the World Health Organization reported. The CDC recognized that the number of children who aren’t being vaccinated by 24 months old has been gradually increasing.
A doctor is someone who heals, not someone who makes you sicker.
You choose your doctor, I’ll choose mine.
I’m not breaking halacha by doing what is best for my child.

If vaccines are good for your health and safety. And we know that it is harmful to 30% of the population. Why aren’t there tests being givin before receiving vaccines to make sure a paitiont will not have a harmful reaction. Why does there have to be that risk. Make vaccines safe.

Vaccines injuries are not reported so al statistics that are brought forward are false. There is 30% chance of getting a bad reaction from vaccines.
While you are right that scientist do change their hypotheses here and there, there are different levels of accuracy that scientists have in different fields of science. All people who are against vaccination are afraid because there are a certain amount of people that get bad reactions, and they don’t want to be one of them. So just to put things in perspective, the amount of people that REPORT (the connection has not been proven) each year of having severe reactions to vaccines is on average between 3,000 to 4,500 people. When my doctor told me that he was going to give my new born a Hep B shot, I said of course! It makes total sense that my new born child needs immunity against STDs. let’s put a foreign substance into my new born’s body.

It wasn’t ‘a child defying his mother’. At the age of 18 he was an adult and legally able to see to his own health and so he did. The majority of mothers do vaccinate but wait until the baby is slightly older and space them out. It’s the vaccinations all at once as soon as the baby is born that are risky.

What is lost in the discussion are the victims of the anti-vaxxers who fall ill because of the reemergence of formerly eradicated diseases, such as Whooping Cough (from which I fell victim despite being immunized.) and measles.
