The latest supporter of the Chabad of Olympia shul in Monsey is Skverer Rebbe, R’ David Twersky who lives nearby in the village of New Square.
The Skverer Rebbe handed 3 $100 bills to Rabbi Dudi Farkash, a Lubavitcher businessman who runs the shul where the Skverer Rebbe’s grandson davens among many others.
The support was given during a Chol Hamoed Sukkos meeting attended by Farkash and Yedidia Meir, a frum Israeli author and journalist who is spending in the year in the United States.
Farkash thanked him for the support and presented the sefer Chol Hamoed K’hilchaso from his father, the posek Rabbi Yekusiel Farkash of Jerusalem; Chidushim B’sugyom B’shas from his father in law, Rabbi Avrohom Mendel Friedland of the Chabad Yeshiva in Kiryat Gat; and a biography about his grandfather, the chossid R’ Zalman Leib Astulin OBM.
“The meeting was a token of hakoras hatov for having an open shul,” Farkash told COLlive.com. “He said the money that he gave was also payment for the seforim that I brought him.”
A few years ago I was by the Siyum Harambam in OT hall, and a representative of the Skverer Rebbe spoke there.
