A group of 23 women from two communities in Brazil spent a week visiting New York, learning about the Chassidic community first-hand.
Accompanied by sisters who serve as Shluchos in S. Paulo – Chany Goldberg of Morumbi and Rivky Rosenfeld of Pinheiros – the women were hosted at local homes and visited Crown Heights landmarks such as 770, the Rebbe’s room, the Rebbe’s library, the Shluchim office and the Jewish Children’s Museum.
The group also toured New York City, visiting the Ohel in Queens, the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan, among other locations.
“The men from our community come to New York quite often, and the women really wanted a trip of their own,” organizers said. “The trip was a great opportunity for them to get an inside look at the Chabad lifestyle up close.”
