A farbrengen was held in Bais Eliezer Yitchok Shul in Crown Heights to mark the day of Gimmel Tammuz.
Anash and temimim gathered together for the first Farbrengen in the Shul following many months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The farbrengen was led by Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld, who has recently been appointed to serve as the new Rov of the Shul following the passing of its Rov and founder, Rabbi Don Yoel Levy OBM.
Rabbi Weinfeld spoke about the significance of the day of Gimmel Tammuz, pointing out that it is a day that combines two opposites, being both the day we celebrate the Chag HaGeulah of the Frierdiker Rebbe from Soviet Prison, as well as the Yartzeit Hilula of the Rebbe, which is a day of ‘helem V’hester,’ great darkness when we can no longer see the Rebbe.
However, Rabbi Weinfeld explained, that it is all up to us and how we live to see the light of the imminent Geulah.
The learning the Rebbe’s Maamarim of Basi Legani and Veatah Tetzaveh, Rabbi Weinfeld explained, will help us to accomplish the goal of bringing the light of Geulah into this world, and soon we will be reunited with the Rebbe with the final Geulah.
