A visit to the Rebbe’s Ohel on Gimmel Tammuz has resulted in a large donation to the Or Vechom Global Unity event.
Joel Jacob, president of the BottleCrew packaging company, is a donor to many Jewish and Chabad causes and a supporter of the Friendship Circle of Michigan.
While visiting the Ohel Thursday, Jacob met with Rabbi Mendel Shemtov, who directs the Or Vechom office, and was greatly inspired by the live zoom event which united over 100,000 Chasidim in commemorating the day of Gimmel Tammuz.
“Joel was not just inspired by the event itself, he is also dedicated to ensuring that the messages that were imparted during the global farbrengen are implemented and expanded throughout the year,” Rabbi Mendel Shemtov told COLlive.
Hearing about the fundraising campaign to help fund the cost of Vaad Or Vechom’s Gimmel Tammuz projects, Jacob pledged to match donations through Sunday night, up to $36,000.
